July 2011 – New UK Pallet Distribution Service Announced

Through our new partnership with Palletways, the UK’s leading Pallet Distribution Network, Warley Carriers are now able to provide a full range of nationwide UK pallet distribution services to suit every need. This unrivalled range of cost-efficient, reliable, flexible and high quality palletized freight services throughout the UK now provides a further competitive edge for all our UK, Irish and European customers. Services offered include:

Premium                       - Delivery on the next working day to most of the UK mainland.
Economy                       - Delivery two working days after pick up.
Added Value Services   - Next day 9AM, Next day AM, Timed delivery, etc.

The UK service through Palletways has a simplified approach to shipping palletized freight. Rates are based on three pallet definitions;

“Full” pallet        - 120x100x220cms up to 1200kg.
“Half” pallet       - 120x100x110cms up to 500kg.
“Quarter” pallet  - 120x100x80cms up to 250kg

Warley Carriers collect pallets around the Midlands on their own vehicles and deliver in to the Palletways UK Hub Operation Centre in Lichfield for distribution throughout the UK. Collections outside of the Midlands are collected by the local Palletways member.

At the Lichfield hub the freight is processed, and using sophisticated information technology, is sorted into designated delivery areas according to the final destination for the product. The goods for delivery are then assigned to Palletways members in the network, who cover the locations of the end customers. All services are supported by a comprehensive on-line Track & Trace system providing Proof of Delivery information and scanned POD image.
